Magister Staley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Education from Earlham College. After departing a successful marketing/editing career, he began teaching at an Indianapolis-based classical school in 2000 and was subsequently promoted in 2002, where he then successfully served as both headmaster and teacher until 2007. Since that time, Mr. Staley has had experience teaching in a variety of pubic, private, and classical school environments. The founding headmaster of HSCA, he now serves in a teaching capacity with the Academy. A life-long learner with a burning zeal for “teaching to the soul of the student,” Mr. Staley has particular teaching strengths in humane letters, history, literature, philosophy, and music. He is an accomplished school choir director and student of the classical works of literature. He looks forward to teaching the wide variety of classes this year.
